TESTING
Validating design decisions with people/users is what makes this whole process human-centric. What we do is for the people and not for technology itself. For that very matter, technology exists to help people.
If you cannot measure it, you cannot control it so, validating a design ensures that data will be captured to measure KPIs like ROI. It enables a responsive behaviour that can lift and shift a project from failure to success.
USABILITY TESTING
Involving the users in hands-on usability testing using a prototype to simulate the process, interactions, affordances and system behaviour help surface pain points and observations on ways of working within the business process.
Using a "think aloud" technique, the researcher can extrapolate more qualitative data to certify if the design works for the users causing the minimum amount of stress.
